Corona Virus Response

updated as of December 16, 2020

The health and safety of our clients, staff members and their respective families continue to be of utmost concern to us. However, while we are still sharply curtailing in-office conferences at the present time, we have begun to make limited appointments for in-person conferences if clients so desire and as prudent given the state of the pandemic.  We  will of course remain accessible by telephone, e-mail and fax, and our staff will primarily be working from home until further notice to complete your work in a timely manner.  You may contact us by phone to determine our office "days and hours" for a particular week.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and appreciate your cooperation as we move forward as a nation and as a world to return to some sense of normalcy.

In any case, please have a very Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukkah, and best wishes for a Happy and Healthy New Year!

Welcome to Bratt & Bratt, LC- A Probate & Estate Planning Firm

We seek to resurrect the ideals of an earlier day, when attorneys were trusted advisors, legal counselors and often friends. We recognize that knowledge of the law alone, and the technical ability to draft complex documents, is not enough to assist our clients in planning for their later years, or in supporting them through the loss of a loved one.

Competence, compassion, integrity and respect are the cornerstones of the relationships we build with all of our clients.

 Who We Are

Success born of experience: Thirty plus years of personal experience, and character three generations in the making.

Attorneys and Staff

What Makes Us Different

Bill Bratt is a third generation attorney, tracing back to a small town New Jersey practice established by his grandfather in the early 1900's.  From an early age, he was immersed in the expectation that attorneys were held to a higher standard, and that the law was a calling to help and protect others, rather than a license to take advantage of them.

About our Legal Practice

What We Offer

Our primary focus is essentially on two sides of one coin: First, whether called estate planning, elder law or succession planning, we assist you in creating a personalized plan for the protection and management of your assets should a time ever arise when you can no longer protect and manage them personally.  After you are gone, your documents will meet the unique needs of your spouse and other loved ones. Your plan is individualized to your specific needs and circumstances rather than being a "one size fits all" Trust Agreement form.  Second, after a loved one has died, we guide you through the estate or trust administration process, handling as much- or as little- as you desire in order to make this difficult time as painless and cost-effective as possible.  Providing our clients with peace of mind is just as important to us as providing legal excellence.

In addition to our traditional, in-person services, we also offer an expedited, on-line service to assist you in resolving probate issues affecting South Carolina real estate owned by a non-resident decedent.  Rapid, professional service at a surprisingly affordable cost will eliminate at least one major detail in handling a loved one's estate.
